Combustive July

Incandescent day;
brutally oppressive still,
the shade burning opacity.

Sultry thick magic -
billowing, mysterious,
writhing sortilege. Ablaze.

Poking my head out of the hermit cave for a bit...

I came across this diminutive friend of a spider today.
Being that I am such a hermit, I've discovered that I relate quite well to spiders.
I sit alone in my nerd-filled "web" of a cave.

My cave, like a web, may be enchanting. It keeps me, and those who are allowed in my inner sanctum, very happy.
However, if you decide to arrive uninvited or attempt get too close, out curiosity or any other lame-ass reason you might have, I might wrap you in my silk - and after toying with you a bit, I'll ultimately do away with you.
It won't be pretty.
Just ask my little spider friend.

Ms. Spider, after pausing to pose for a few pictures, for a familiar soul, continued to go slowly about her day, enjoying the shade, building upon her web.
Respect!

So it begins...

I'm not quite certain where this will take me. I've been toying with the idea of starting a blog, but the actual thought of doing so has been terrifying to me, given that I've been quite the hermit for the past few years. Sharing my private thoughts, feelings and ideas and whatever else the inner workings of my bipolar/antipodal mind  produces...? It should be interesting, especially as this develops.

Because my interests typically extend from one extreme to another, it is difficult to know where to begin - though it seems fitting to begin with a few photos of mushrooms, from my "faerie tale forest" concept album, since the discussion of lovely mushrooms is ultimately what prompted me to actually start a blog.

Thank you, Stacey and Lisa!
So begins my blogging adventure...
